President Haruko Hayakawa

The Japan-Finland Society was established in 1973 as the Japan-Finland Economic Association.

It was initially mainly active for the purpose of furthering trade relations, but in 1975 it was decided to combine that with cultural exchange, and the name was changed to the Japan-Finland Society.

Along with the complete organization and activities, the decision was made in December 1975 to this society into a general incorporated foundatiion and applied for this to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, and on February 20, 1976, official approval for becoming a general incorporated foundation was received from both ministries and the foundation for our society's activities was solidified.

In accordance with the revision to civil code, from April 1, 2013, as the General Incorporated Foundation The Japan-Finland Society, we are continuing to make special efforts for the exchange of goodwill and culture, including public activities.
